Wow I’ve gone design mad creating something new lately!!! Anyways my theme for the past few weeks has been all girly stuff like flowers and jewellery. I have decided that I need my content in my graphics area if I’m planning to go freelance and hopefully each day I will create a logo for another week since I just started today which has a fashion theme. So hoepfully each day will have a new theme just to try out different skills and style.

This image turned out very different to the original concept because I wanted to give a spilled tea affect and it does looks like the image has a cut out effect do to the drop shadow effect. The overall work shows a girl blooming out to the open almost like the saying “Spread your wings and fly”. because she moving out of her comfort zone.

I finally manage to get the lightbox to work on my images it took so long and having a lack of sleep because of too much thinking to figure out how to remove the text on JQuery Lightbox. So I’ve decided to ditch that plugin and gone for the SlimBox plugin it worked perfectly!!

The rabbit design appear to me random as during the time of its birth I was trying to create clouds using the twirl tool.

I really like this illustration because of the colour and how perfectly it shape my name.

Hi, 2 months has gone by and still slowly working on my 3D animation the “Design Studio”. What I have learned so far in creating characters in Maya is don’t always follow by the book especially when working with joints and skins because if you make one small change then you have to redo the whole thing again.

Here’s is a quick artwork done in 8hrs for another site. I mostly done this artwork in illustator

I am also working on the portfolio page making it more interactive, interesting and intriguing!
Its still have bugs but getting there also there is some new images added too!!

Project Kitchen…. a short film on the romance of Salt & Pepper.

So far I have done the set of the film the kitchen, adding what you normally see in a typical kitchen but this kitchen has an edge of a fantasy theme. Because it bring typical everyday object to life where you follow of Salt and Pepper (main characters).

Its a hard and long fustrating process to make a perfect kitchen with good lighting. Its a very long process of getting the lighting to look good and doing a test render.

The “before” image shows the default lighting of maya software and the “after” image shows lighting done by different light types and using mental ray plugin.

I’m still working on this short film but is placed on hold since I’m working on another set “the design studio”. This project is going to be used as an interaction 3D portfolio where user’s select an object (ie. laptop) it will take them to a detail area in a certain section. I am hoping to get this done by end of this month

Happy New Year!!! The year of the Rabbit a great year to start an adventure.

Sorry for not updating for awhile been busy creating a showreel for a job overseas and its been long, hard and still going. It’s amazing how much autodesk changes its product every year and I’m currently still using Autodesk Maya 2010 for practicing 3D work and 2011 Maya has totally change the interface.

Anyways in my time of renewing my Maya skills I learned new skills and will share once I get my showreel done.

eLLO, wow it’s been awhile I post here which is sad and I should try to start posting now even for one sentence or half done work. Anyways after the endless assignment has finally been completed and now I’m ready to share to the world for a review.

Ello, sorry for another late post been busy with uni and getting ready for my trip. Here’s some more practice sketch using Sketch book pro.

Shadows are very hard to justify for me. I have to think where the light is facing and places that need shadows more like the hair overlaying the face and nose.

I really like this new style I’m working with. Having a more realistic nose, bigger lips fors females and still have an anime feel.

Music Studio for windows trial

Well since I’m not using a Mac for my trip I need to find a program similar to Garage Band for windows. With aimless researching I discovered a blog that compares different type of music studio programs for windows. These programs are Adobe audition, Sony Acid and Mixcraft 5. I really wanted Adobe audition because it looks similar to Soundtrack pro and plus side its has some features of garage band but the price was to high for me. So I’m left with either Sony Acid or Mixcraft 5 they both have similar features but I have gone for Mixcraft 5 because it cheaper and I grab the musician bundle where you can make drum beats.

Looks similar to garage band but function is different and still experimenting with this program.

Finally I got something to post! I know I’m over due for one. Anyways for the past 2 weeks I have been practicing my skills on digital drawing with Autodesk Sketchbook pro and painting with Painter 11. I’m currently practicing these 2 program which is quite hard to adjust from using traditional media.

Autodesk Sketchbook pro

I mostly use this program to sketch up my image and flesh it before transferring to painter 11. I find this program quite unique because the structure of this program is user friendly and build to be work efficient. The tools menu is what make the program unique it is shape as 1/4 of a circle located at bottom left corner of the screen. It place the common tools on the outer circle and main function on the inner circle. To use the tools on the outer circle you have to click on the picture and hold until more tools appear.

For the colour side of this program haven’t been tested out yet because I use painter 11 instead also for some reason this program looks more into fleshing the image out than completing into a fully render artwork. The one thing I find odd about this program is there is no layer menu. I shall do more test on this program

Painter 11

This is the fun part adding colour to the image. This program has the resemble of painting in real life because of the paint dribbles on the page and here’s my favorite part the mixing palette where you mix colours up to form something new. Painter 11 provides a wide range of artistic tools of pastel, paint, water effects and etc.

The good part about painting digitally is that when you make a mistake you can always erase it or start a new layer!

Anyways back to practicing and check out some programs

Cat Has  caught my mind!!!

Wow it actually took me 6 hrs to do this artwork in realtime. The hardest part was coming up with a design because I made this e-card for my cousins in Singapore. The typography is done by me “Thank You! and cat resembles my dad’s Ginger cat (he is so cute). The design is done on illustrator cs4 it might have a different outcome if I have cs5. But anyways I like the turnout of this design it has the kiddy feel and lots of bright colours used aswell.

I shall put more info in my portfolio section. Coming soon the making of the site theme and kitty thank you card.

It is the year 2010 and its the year that Twilightheart[.com] will become fully operational with a new face. Twilightheart will provide a service of graphics, web, film, animation, audio and 2 new sections which are store (still under construction). The site quote “Vision into Reality” means that you can turn your creation into somethings real with my services. I thought of that name because when I create a work of art it gives you the illusion of being real in its own dimension. It also give the feeling of achieve . . .  a master piece because you produce it from scratch to a stage of beauty then completion.

My goal for this site it to produce a book under this site name that has a story of a tragic tale between two lovers that they can never be together because of their destiny. Lastly this site will be my blogging site where reflect on my master piece and how it turn out the way it is. My journey of creating are and self learning has just begun taking each step towards the future . . .
